The total maximum daily load (TMDL) program has been part of the Clean Water Act since 1972, but has become a significant focus of attention during the last ten years. The Handbook provides timely and current information on regulatory, legal, and policy developments in the TMDL arena, with a special focus on identifying and managing POTW concerns and issues. It also offers strategies for utilities to consider to enhance their effectiveness in TMDL development and planning. This handbook also contains a comprehensive appendix of referenced TMDLs and federal and state guidance documents. Published by NACWA, in association with Barnes & Thornburg LLP. Spiral bound. Soft cover. 117 pages. 2004.
