Water & Wastewater Laboratory Techniques This book is written as a teaching and reference tool for educating new (and older) analysts in water and wastewater laboratories in the skills and techniques of the bench chemist. The book explains everything an analyst might encounter in performing a generic general chemistry test. Thus the discussion begins with reagents and stock chemicals and moves on to preparation of stock and working standard solutions, calibrations, and so forth, through calculations and reporting of results with significant figures. Each chapter includes documentation of each step of the procedure required to establish legal defensibility. The theoretical aspects of chemistry are covered only in enough depth to explain the procedures under discussion. Calculations of molecular and formula mass, molarity and normality, stoichiometry of reactions are presented as appendices.
